The Disability Policy Consortium and the Employment Now Coalition are interesting in increasing employment option and outcomes for people with disabilities in Massachusetts.
We are interested in working with seniors in colleges who are currently looking for work or who will be soon after graduation. We will host conference calls with participants to allow them to interact with members of the DPC and ENC who have been in the labor market for years. In select cases we may be able to offer role-playing interviews. In some cases we may be able to steer people to interview or to companies that might meet the participants expectations.
In return, we’d ask participants to help us track their progress in getting work. We ask to receive a copy of the job posting or job description as well as copies
of the material participants submit. Dates and names of contacts would also be important.
Our particular concerns are people with disabilities who meet the posted requirements for a position but are not hired. This may be discrimination or it maybe the way the participant interviews. To the extent that it may be discrimination we would like participants to work with us on a mitigation plan.
